
Magnolia adopts new GPLv3 license

Magnolia International Ltd., creator of the open-source Enterprise Content Management System Magnolia, today announced the transition of its Magnolia Community Edition to GPLv3.
GPLv3 is the latest version of the world's most popular open-source license, which has been released in June this year by the Free Software Foundation.
Magnolia is the first JSR-170-based Content Management System released under the GNU Public License Version 3 (GPLv3), and one of the first mainstream applications to embrace the new license.
Releasing the Magnolia Community Edition under the OSI-approved GPLv3 provides the Magnolia community with a clear and modern license that grants the essential freedoms of open-source software to its users and protects their investment into the code base.
